Duncan L. McKellar, MD, Orthopaedic Surgeon
A native of Texas, Dr. McKellar completed his undergraduate studies with a BA in Zoology at the University of Texas Austin and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. He completed two years of general surgery residency at University of Arizona College of Medicine and a four year orthopedic surgery residency at University of Arizona College of Medicine. Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, he continues to attend advanced post-graduate courses and seminars. Dr. McKellar and his wife Michele, have two sons, Rand and Rick.
Philosophy
With eighteen years of experience, Dr. McKellar and his staff are committed to providing the highest level of patient centered care available. Dr. McKellar places an emphasis on returning patients to the most active post-operative lifestyle feasible.
Procedures
Athletic injury care, total hip and knee replacement surgery, revision total hip and knee surgery, fracture care, as well as general orthopaedics are Dr. McKellar’s special areas of interest. In addition to his 18 years of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon he also is devoted to being abreast of the latest technologies and procedures. He utilizes computer-assisted navigation and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Along with the treatment of acute or chronic problems, Dr. McKellar strives to integrate prevention in all of his treatment plans as a way to alleviate possible future difficulties. He places an emphasis on returning patients to the most active post-operative lifestyle feasible.
